“Making money is art and working is art and good business is the best art.”- Andy Warhol
Actually to start a business you need just 3 simple things things: know your product better than anyone, know your customer and have a powerful desire to succeed.
Everyone wants to be successful, until they see what it actually takes. At first, what is success actually is? According to Business Dictionary, success is achievement of an action within a specified period of time or within a specified parameter.
Let’s take a look at 7 simple rules for successful business.
1.Go from small to big
If you are a small business owner, than your key to success is being focused on a specific type of product or customer in the market, rather than competing for every customer. Try to do a marketing consulting for a certain industry.
2. Commit to what you are doing
Believe in your idea and business than anybody else. In that case you’ll be out there every day trying to do it the best you possibly can, and pretty soon everybody around will catch the passion from you – like a fever. In this way, try to avoid these annoying habits that steal your energy.
“Success is never owned; it is only rented – and the rent is due every day”
3. Don’t forget about defining your goals
You’ll never reach a goal you haven’t set. Most of the business owners usually get right to the work and forget about developing a business plan. That’s not about 50-page boring document, but focusing on the fundamentals of your company: your market, competition, industry and your strategic position. The trick is to learn how to focus on your goals then put steps in place to achieve them.
4. Do business with other people
We prefer to do business with people we like and trust.
Your customers do too. Get to know your customers; find out about their businesses or families. Let them get to know you. Small businesses can compete with the big guys by building strong customer relationships.
5. Exceed your customers’ expectations
Give them what they want – and a little more. Make good on all your mistakes, and don’t make excuses — apologize. Stand behind everything you do.
6. Control your expenses better than your competition
Actually, you can always find your company’s competitive advantage. You can have different fails and still recover if you run an efficient system. Or you can be brilliant and still go out of business if you’re too inefficient.
7. Go the other way
Ignore the conventional wisdom. If everybody else is doing it one way, there’s a good opportunity you can find your niche by going in exactly the opposite direction.
On the other hand, don’t forget to motivate your partners, celebrate your achievements, listen to everyone in your company. Of course, learn on how to be productive and motivated during the whole day.
Work hard, every day, and you’ll get there.
