How York Veterinary Hospital Increased Google Ads Conversions by 75% in 3 Months

York Veterinary Hospital is a local veterinary clinic in Toronto serving pet owners looking for accessible, nearby care.

Digilite partnered with York Veterinary Hospital to improve Google Ads performance, make better use of a limited monthly budget, and generate more meaningful actions from potential patients.

The Challenge

York Veterinary Hospital was working with a monthly Google Ads budget of roughly $800 to $850, while competing against larger veterinary advertisers across Toronto.

For a local veterinary hospital, targeting all of Toronto would have spread the budget too thin. Not every pet owner searching in the city was realistically close enough to become a patient, so the campaign needed to focus on people nearby who were more likely to call, book, or visit the clinic.

Our Approach

Digilite focused on making the campaign more efficient by narrowing the audience, improving targeting, and prioritizing actions that mattered to the business.

Our work included:

Focusing the campaign around a 5 km radius
We kept the budget concentrated on nearby pet owners who were more likely to visit York Veterinary Hospital.

Structuring campaigns by user intent
We used different campaign types to reach people searching for veterinary services, comparing competitors, or showing potential interest across Google’s ad network.

Optimizing for potential-patient conversions, not just clicks
We focused on tracked actions such as form submissions and online appointment actions instead of measuring success only by traffic volume.

Using Performance Max to support conversion growth
Performance Max helped generate additional conversion volume efficiently while Search campaigns continued to capture high-intent users.

Reviewing mobile performance as part of the strategy
Since nearly all recorded conversions came from mobile, the campaign insights showed how important mobile-friendly landing pages and easy contact actions were.

The Results

From May to July 2026, York Veterinary Hospital increased monthly conversions from 12 to 21, while cost per conversion dropped from $55.29 to $37.45.

This improvement was not simply the result of spending more. Monthly ad spend increased by only 18.5%, while conversion volume increased by 75%, showing that the campaign became more efficient over time.

Across the full 3-month period, the campaigns generated 48 tracked conversions from $2,143.53 in Google Ads spend, with an average cost per conversion of $44.66.

Lead Generation Impact

The strongest result was not more traffic. It was better traffic.

In July, York Veterinary Hospital generated 21 conversions from 212 clicks, compared to 12 conversions from 256 clicks in May. Even with fewer clicks, the campaign produced significantly more potential-patient actions.

This shows that the campaign was not simply attracting more visitors. It was helping bring in users who were more likely to take meaningful steps, such as submitting a form or starting an appointment action.

Performance Max and Search Results

Performance Max and Search both played important roles in the account.

Performance Max generated 24 conversions at an average cost of $31.62, while Search campaigns generated 24 conversions at an average cost of $57.69.

Performance Max helped increase conversion volume more efficiently, while Search continued to reach people actively looking for veterinary services or comparing local providers.

York Veterinary Hospital’s 3-month Google Ads performance shows how a focused local strategy can help a small ad budget work harder. With 75% more monthly conversions, a 32% lower cost per conversion, and stronger potential-patient activity from a limited budget, the campaign helped York Veterinary Hospital turn paid search into more meaningful business opportunities.
