It’s been a while since the last time i wrote a blog post, actually since Christmas. We’ve been very busy in the past few months working on Digilite’s new office in Markham. We finally did the opening in March, and since then it’s been a crazy ride.
Since the beginning of this year, I’ve been experimenting a lot with HTML5 and the reason why IT’S AWESOME. I mean there are so many new functionalities available on HTML5 that makes it so great. Let’s hope that browsers will catch up soon and will start converting everything to HTML5, or at least whatever makes sense to convert. Anyways i wanted to share with you some cool HTML5 tools and websites I found during my research.
PhoneGap: is an HTML5 app platform that allows you to author native applications with web technologies and get access to APIs and app stores. PhoneGap leverages web technologies developers already know best… HTML and JavaScript.
Backbone.js: Backbone.js gives structure to web applications by providing models with key-value binding and custom events, collections with a rich API of enumerable functions, views with declarative event handling, and connects it all to your existing API over a RESTful JSON interface.
MediaElements.js: Instead of offering an HTML5 player to modern browsers and a totally separate Flash player to older browsers, MediaElement.js upgrades them with custom Flash and Silverlight plugins that mimic the HTML5 MediaElement API.
LimeJS: LimeJS is an HTML5 game framework for building fast, native-experience games for all modern touchscreens and
desktop browsers.
For all those who want to learn HTML5 here is a Free HTML5 eBook.
So you saw the different frameworks and tools that html5 is bringing in to the browser world and also saw the book that teaches you about HTML5, how to utilize it and where.
